About us

A foundation built on faith and compassion.

In brief

The Funke Adeyemo Foundation exists to turn faith into practical care for people who are too often overlooked. We are a Nigerian NGO, founded in 2024 and rooted in the conviction that love should be visible.

Founded with purpose

Our story

It began with a burden to care.

The Funke Adeyemo Foundation began with a simple burden: that no widow should have to carry grief and financial pressure alone. In many communities, the loss of a husband can also mean the loss of income, family support and the confidence needed to care for children. We wanted to respond to that reality with more than sympathy.

In 2024, that burden became a foundation. We started with widows, because that was the need closest to us, and we built our first outreach around practical help: food, household supplies, fellowship and the dignity of being seen. From there, the work grew to include rural community outreach and support for children's education.

We remain a small, community-rooted organisation with a large conviction. We believe that faith is most credible when it is visible in how we treat the vulnerable. That is why we listen first, serve with humility and keep the people we serve at the centre of every decision.

What guides us

Three commitments that shape the work.

01

Our mission

To express the love of God through practical, dignified support for widows, vulnerable families and underserved communities.

02

Our vision

Communities where no widow, child or family is left to face hardship alone, and where generosity becomes lasting change.

03

Our promise

To listen before we act, keep our promises modest, protect the dignity of every person and be transparent with every resource.

Our values

The way we work matters as much as what we do.

01

Faith in action

We believe love should be visible. Our faith shapes how we show up, how we listen and how we serve.

02

Human dignity

Every person is made in the image of God. We serve with honour, never pity, and protect the dignity of those we walk with.

03

Open hands

We are transparent about what we receive and what we do with it. Trust is a responsibility we take seriously.

04

Community first

We work alongside local leaders, families and volunteers because lasting change is built together.

Founder

Funke Adeyemo

Founder & President

Funke Adeyemo is a faith-driven humanitarian with a deep concern for widows, vulnerable families and communities that are too often overlooked. She founded the Funke Adeyemo Foundation in 2024 to turn compassion into consistent, practical action.

Her work brings together volunteers, churches, local leaders and supporters who share a simple conviction: every person deserves to be treated with dignity. Under her leadership, the foundation focuses on listening first, serving with humility and being transparent with every resource entrusted to it.

“Faith is not only what we believe. It is how we care for one another when it costs us something.”

Accountability

Registered, rooted and accountable to the people we serve.

The Funke Adeyemo Foundation is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria, founded in 2024. We keep clear records of what we receive and how it is used, and we welcome questions from supporters and partners.
